Time & Location

28 Apr 2019, 10:00 – 16:00

Terapia @ The Bothy, 19 E End Rd, London N3 2SU, UK

About the event

Research has shown that there is a significant need for therapeutic support in

the intersex population, particularly where trauma is created through nonconsensual

surgeries and medical intervention in infancy and childhood.

The UK Gender Recognition Act consultation 2018 included questions for

intersex people and in 2019 the UK Government launched a variation in sex characteristics call for

evidence survey, to more fully understand the experiences of intersex people.

During our workshops, practitioners gain a deeper understanding of the following:

  • Differences between physical sex characteristics, sexuality, and gender identity.
  • We provide comprehensive knowledge of the many physical variations in sex characteristics covered by the umbrella term ‘intersex’.
  • Explaining the existential challenges
  • Human rights abuses in the UK and world wide
